Nine Travel
Chiang Rai, the northernmost province of Thailand is about 785 kilometers north of Bangkok and has an average elevation of 580 meters above sea level. Chiang Rai is situated in the Mae Kok River basin. It reaches from the Mekong River to the north, to Chiang Mai province to the south, and borders both Myanmar and Laos, and China is 265 km. away by boat. Chiang Rai is surrounded by mountains with evergreen and deciduous forests, tea plantations and lovely waterfalls. There are a variety of hill tribes (minority peoples from China and Myanmar) to be found in the area, including Karen, Mien, Hmong, Lisu, Lahu, and Akha. The friendliness of the local people, along with their magnificent arts and culture, attract visitors from all over the world. The Golden Triangle, historically connected to the opium and heroin trade, is the meeting point of three national borders ( Thailand , Laos and Myanmar). You can relax and enjoy the beautiful scenery of Doi Mae Salong and Doi Tung. At Doi Tung you may explore the Royal Villa (the first residence of the Princess Mother) and her Flower Garden. Adventurous activities such as elephant riding, trekking, and boat trips are available here as well.

We had the great pleasure of taking a tour with Nok who showed us a wonderful time in Chaing Rai. She has excellent english, perfect manners, fantastic knowledge of history & the area sights. She does not make you feel rushed or hurried in any way while on your tour. We spent the day with Nok which made our stay in Chaing Rai most memorable. We enjoyed the freedom of stopping for photos when we wanted to take them, seeing the sights & enjoying a very relaxing lunch in a nice artsy restaurant. She was punctual, a good driver & always considerate of what we wanted to do rather than rush, rush, rush to get to the next destination. We got to see everything we wanted & then some. Hi Nok, Back in Australia but still reminiscing on our wonderful time in Thailand and in particular our time with you in Chiang Rai. On reflection, our two days with you visiting the hill tribes, the Golden Triangle, the monkey caves, the White Temple, and a trip up the Kok river to the elephant camp were probably the highlight of the whole trip. Thank you so much for your caring and humeroud guidance and also the careful and professional driving of Mr Pong - we can't wait to come back again in the future. I did two tours with Nine Travel with Nok (the best guide in Thailand) as my guide.
Nok could not have been more friendly or helpful and she continued to amaze me with her knowledge of the region.
I am going to return with my wife as soon as I can and get Nok to show us the lovely region of north Thailand.

Somos tres chicas que sin tener informacion (escribo desde tailandia y no hay acentos!) previa de ninguna agencia, escogimos esta porque la mencionaba la Lonely Planet. Consideramos que la ruta de dos dias que hemos cogido ha sido muy completa y queremos destacar la profesionalidad de la guia; a parte de conocer perfectamente la zona, ofrece informacion muy interesante del pais. Ademas es muy atenta y simpatica.

Superbes tours dans une region toute aussi jolie. J'en ai fait deux, et je ne regrette vraiment pas.
Nok connait vraiment bien les environs, et ces deux jours m'ont vraiment permis d'apprendre de nombreuses choses sur la region et ses habitants, dans une ambiance tres sympathique.
Petits groupes, ce qui permet d'apprecier d'autant plus l'experience !

We all thoroughly enjoyed Nok’s insightful and engaging tour through Thailand. Nok was a superb tour guide and was very polite, spoke excellent English and is especially knowledgeable of her local surroundings. She made the day comfortable and appealing for all.
Her tour took us from a scenic trip down the Kok River to elephant rides, up waterfalls, through local mountain villages and was topped off with a twilight dip in a relaxing hot spring. Along the way we all gained a lot of knowledge of Thailand; the people, plants and animals and also were able to enjoy a unique Thai lunch, cooked straight from the lush jungle.
Nok made the tour exciting and interesting, she gave you freedom and the opportunity to take as many pictures as you like! The tour allowed us to see Thailand in a whole different light, away from the bustle of the cities to its natural wonders and local people.
Nok’s day tour certainly made a highlight for all of us on our trip. |
